SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPY IN EVALUATION OF SURFACE TISSUE REACTIONS USED FOR SELECTING TITANIUM IMPLANTS FOR ORBIT RECONSTRUCTION SURGERY

Scanning electron microscopy of titanium implant samples implanted into the back soft tissues of small laboratory animals (rats) was performed. The perforated and non-perforated plate-form implants were evaluated. The most intensive integration processes were observed in the perforated titanium plates. Scanning electron microscopy should be included into the biomedical research process as one of the main methods to confirm the integration processes between tissue and titanium implant.
