RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS ASSOCIATED WITH CHLAMYDOPHILA PNEUMONIAE INFECTION

Objective. To identify the clinical, laboratory, and instrumental manifestations of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) associated with Chlamydophila pneumoniae infection.

Materials and methods. The clinical manifestations, laboratory parameters, and instrumental data of 32 patients aged 20 to 68 years with RA associated with Chlamydophila pneumoniae infection the average disease duration being 3.8±0.76 years were analyzed. Chlamydophila pneumoniae infection was diagnosed using two methods: the real-time PCR of the samples from the oral cavity, the urethra, the cervical canal, the synovial fluid as well as detection of specific antibodies (Ig M, Ig A, Ig G) in the blood by ELISA. The data was processed using MS Exel and Statistica 10 (serial number BXXR207F383402FA-V).

Conclusion. The identified clinical, laboratory, and instrumental manifestations of rheumatoid arthritis associated with Chlamydophila pneumoniae infection the rheumatologists can use to verify the diagnosis more accurately and correct the therapy adequately.
