The article is devoted to the outstanding Russian surgeon S. S. Yudin, a brilliant practitioner and theorist, one of the founders of transfusiology and clinical transplantology, a diversified talented person whose last years were marred by unfair persecution, deprivation of work opportunities and serious diseases that led to the premature death.
