SPECIFIC FEATURES OF RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS ASSOCIATED WITH CHLAMYDOPHILA PNEUMONIAE INFECTION

Objective. To reveal the clinical manifestations features, the laboratory parameters and the instrumental data changes in case of rheumatoid arthritis associated with Chlamydophila pneumoniae infection.

Materials and methods. The clinical manifestations, laboratory parameters and instrumental data of 32 patients with rheumatoid arthritis associated with Chlamydophila pneumoniae infection aged from 20 to 68 years the average disease duration being 3.8±0.76 years were studied. The Chlamydophila pneumoniae infection was diagnosed using 2 methods: the real-time PCR in the samples from the oral cavity, urethra, cervical canal, synovial fluid as well as the specific antibodies (Ig M, Ig A, Ig G) detection in the blood by ELISA. To identify the clinical, laboratory, and instrumental features of rheumatoid arthritis associated with Chlamydophila pneumoniae infection, the results were compared with those of 32 patients with rheumatoid arthritis associated with Chlamydia trachomatis infection. Both groups of patients did not differ by the gender (c2=0.78, p=0.376), the age (p=0.068), and the disease duration (p=0.087). The data were processed using MS Exel and Statistica 10 (serial number BXXR207F383402FA-V).

Conclusion. The revealed clinical, laboratory, and instrumental features of rheumatoid arthritis associated with Chlamydophila pneumoniae infection can be used by rheumatologists for more accurate verification of the diagnosis and correcting the therapy.
