The review presents the main stages in the cyclodestruction development beginning from the ideas origination up to the current laser methods and considers the methods advantages and disadvantages. The efficiency and safety of using various types of lasers, energy delivery methods are analyzed. The method of micropulse transscleral cyclophotocoagulation allowing versify significantly the indications for use comparing with the classical method due to its high efficiency and absence of serious complications is discussed separately.
