IATROGENIC FOREIGN BODY EMBOLISM

Acute ischemia of the lower extremities is defined as a rapidly developing or sudden decrease in perfusion often threatening the viability of the extremities. The lower extremities acute ischemia cause is mainly associated with arterial thromboembolism but other sources may also exist in some cases. This article describes a clinical case of the lower extremity decompensated ischemia that occurred after the arterial bed embolism caused by a foreign body.
