The authors evaluated the modern stage of medicine (including the national medicine) development characterized by using various complicated diagnostic and medical techniques and narrow medical specializations. A nowadays doctor is shоwn to underestimate the research classic methods, the importance of establishing an interpersonal contact with the patient and of using clinical methods for his/her examination. The disadvantages appearing while rendering medical care and keeping medical records at public health establishments of the Republic of Belarus are evaluated. Causes of those disadvantages are named, their examples and the necessity of their elimination are substantiated.
