The development of medical science and health care as a social institution contributes to an increase in the influence of medicine in society that’s why the phenomenon of medicalization appeared. Its essence lies in the perception of human life as a medical problem, a person as a patient, and their bodies and consciousness as medical control facilities.
An increase of measures of medication, creating new risks and dangers is not accompanied by improving individual and public health. The situation is exacerbated by ruffling the balance of social institutions of society (health care, education, law, religion). Being an inevitable companion of globalization, medicalization turns people into patients with many ailments abdicated the responsibility for their health to the doctor and medicines.
