Objective. Assess the immediate effects of the mesenchymal stem cells injection on motor symptoms in patients with Parkinson’s disease.
Material and methods. Autologous mesenchymal stem cells were transplanted to two patients with Parkinson’s disease. The way of administration was intranasal. The patients neurological examinations in the dynamics were carried out in the morning after 12/24-hour breaks in taking anti-Parkinsonian drugs followed by those an hour after the drugs administrations. The motor symptoms intensity was assessed using section III of the Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale of the International Society for Movement Disorders.
Results. A positive dynamics was detected in the overall score of the third part of the UPDRS scale during the observation period.
Conclusion. Treatment of patients with Parkinson’s disease using mesenchymal stem cells is a perspective method to influence on a variety of the disease pathogenesis elements. At the same time, this is a complex process still studied insufficiently.
