Objective. To assess the capabilities of modern methods of laparoscopic surgery in the treatment of dominant urological diseases.
Materials and methods. The laparoscopic surgical activity in the urology departments of Minsk Regional Clinical Hospital in the period from 2002 to 2019 was analyzed.
Results. For the period from 2002 to 2019, 1376 laparoscopic surgeries had been performed on the basis of the urological departments of Minsk Regional Clinic Hospital. The average number of laparoscopic surgeries performed over the past 10 years was 101.5 surgeries per year. Over the past 10 years, the range of laparoscopic operations had increased 3 times. Laparoscopic interventions for major urological diseases were introduced into practice from 2010 to 2018.
Conclusion. The laparoscopic technology introduction in urology demonstrates the operations minimal invasiveness, efficiency, reduction of patients’ hospital stay and quick recovery. Our clinic experience demonstrates the real possibility of introducing high-tech interventions into everyday urological practice. Laparoscopic operations are to be started with simple interventions to develop the laparoscopy basic principles with skills gradual development and the transition to more complex techniques. The laparoscopic techniques development is impossible without practicing simulation technologies.
