ULTRASOUND DIAGNOSIS OF COLON COMPLICATED DIVERTICULAR DISEASE

The article shows the results of the comprehensive ultrasound examination of 51 patients with diverticular disease of the colon including 18 (35.3%) men and 33 (64.7%) women aged between 35 and 87 years. 18 (35.3%) patients had complications and they were operated on. A distinction has been made between the ultrasound data and with the data of pathomorphological examination, surgical intervention, colonoscopy, barium contrast enema and computed tomograhpy. It turned out that a comprehensive ultrasound scan including transabdominal colon examination, transvaginal ultrasound, transrectal and transperineal ultrasound, etc. allowed increase the efficiency of ultrasound diagnostics of diverticular disease and its inflammatory complications basing on the developed ultrasound semiotics. The method sensitivity was 80.1%, the specificity was 98%.
